Hello All,

Thanks for the advice on the trailer. Now need advice on what engine to get for a 18' 6'' fin keeled yacht. It has to be the cheapest possible - do you think I can get away with the 2hp engine I use for my dinghy???!!!

Many thanks,
Ian

P.s. has to be outboard

No I don't! Would at best give you steerage only, would have thort at least a 4 hp, 6 or above better. Some good deals on http://www.boatsandoutboards.co.uk

You'll need a long shaft outboard - probably you have a standard shaft on your dinghy motor. As far as power is concerned the choice is yours. When I had a Manta 19 my auxiliary was a Seagull 40 plus of about 2 and a bit HP but the Manta sailed superbly and I used the motor only in calm conditions when it pushed the boat along at about 3 knots. A motor of about 5 HP would be usable under almost all conditions.
