keep seeing this phrase in bayliner ad - what does it actually mean

" has the feel and spaciousness of a much larger boat thanks to innovative beam forward design "

cheers

sounds like it maintains the max beam further forward, so could equally read "handles like a blancmange in a jacuzzi thanks to innovative beam forward design" /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

I think it means something along the lines of having the maximum beam well forward of the 'centre line' perhaps.

If you think about the plan view of a boat the beam swells out gently from the bow with the maximum around the centre point or a bit further aft.

A bad analogy but think of the pear (fruit) with the stalk as the bow and that's a trad layout. Now turn it around with the stalk as the stern and hopefully you see what I'm getting at.
