One of my frinds has been lucky enough to have a tour on one of the new lion 46's (mainly used for charter in the carib.) they are catamarans, with a top speed of around 26kts. Now, obviously with two hulls you are not gunna have as much fun zipping up and down the solent as you would in a monohull, but what would you prefer, the extra space gained by having two hulls, or the thrill (??) of a monohull etc??
