..........email about Premier Fuels and Winter layup treatments. As a Premier berth holder I got one earlier today.
As most of the fuel they supply is already treated with Soltron they advise that no other treatment from other suppliers should be added and even list the other suppliers that should NOT be used! It will stop the Soltron working.
On the associated web page they recomend a three step approach,
Test - Recover - Protect
Test
You can have your fuel tested for "as little as £60" - Oh and SDM fuel solutions can do that for you! It says you should check filters etc which can reveal signs of contamination but wont show underlying issues. Filters and separators it seems are the last line of defence against engine failure; just because they are clean, does not mean that you're in the clear. Oh my God!!! Now is the time to panic!!!
Recover
If you need to recover you can clean the tanks if necessary (subject to the test) or double dose with Soltron and test again in six months. Mmmmmm
Protect
Oh you can double dose with Soltron again!!
All meant in the best possible taste of course! I am sure it is meant to help but the hint at scare tactics to sell fuel testing is a bit saddo
I got the diesel bug in Brighton a few years back and after a £600 tank clean and heavy dosing eversince its still there. Not much but its still there. Better go buy some Soltron and start double dosing I guess!!!
