Your looking at a boat moored in what was a small boat fishing place on the road.Continue along and there used to be liveaboards.
Sam and others were on that key liveing there in Sams and many of the others case since the 50sI dident get beyond No23 on the waiting list before the harbour was made over to large new rich boats and the list scraped. At least for small (under 20m boats)
For all those that were there up to 1996 while i was in Greece, the plans to kill off liveaboards devatated the port, when i reterned in 1998 to find Sam from TROUT dead as were others that had lived aboard but gone ashore,Sam went ashore not becouse he wanted to but becouse the port decided to change. He would have got a place in the center as the others did but dident want it
So many real liveaboards have gone. Is that progress
Then there was the cafe that had been there since 1897.It was in 1987 disgusting!People smoked then constently. Some how she (the owner?Gerant?) continued to sell wine from wooden barrels (wasent very good but) the cafe was just in the begining of the road down to the deux enfants resturant by the habour
The point is it had existed for so long unchanged and suddenly gone in 1998 progress
Today everywheres the same,Plastic and expensive to prove how well off the new rich are.I hate it
