the boat is tied up for the winter.

Well my son and I got up at 05.30 and went to see Chelsea beat Everton. Little did I think that when I booked the tickets in August that Everton would be third in he Premership.

All home drinking tea, and looking at the horror pictures in YM by 22.00

Thanks to Ryanair forcing Aer Lingus to reduce, this type of trip is now reasonable.

Why didn't you go sailing? Nothing on earth can be so boring as the what-evers you watched. I would have done if HWMBO hadn't wanted to hit the swinderlies yet again.

Ah well, when rugby and sailing clash I go sailing [praise be for the video recorder!] but I was on gardeniing duty this weekend anyway: trees, leaves, trees, leaves - now we're talking boring - unlike rugby - wash your mouth out for that suggestion!

Go for long walks to keep the blood going round and stop the joints from seizing, whilst accepting the ageing process is natural, make lots of tea, keep as many good friendships going as possible, avoid all opportunities of stress, meditate, pray a little more than usual, more sleep, comfort-eat in plenty, put on some weight, yawn alot, sleep more, try to go with nature, it's winter after all....time to sloooooow down and tune in to nature's little secret, shh, a nip or two of brandy.......begin to read a book with no intention of ever getting to the end......I am beginning to.......... hibernate already!
