and can not get out on the water, the weather is great and you just want to be out there , hearing the wind in the sails , the slosh and swirl of the water as you glide though the water, the feeling of contentment,

A. do you get p***** off at anyone who describes or reminds you of what you are missing,

B work harder to get though the week faster,

C log on to here.

D, say when I..... retire, / earn enough money/ win the lotto/ inherit money . I will be out there all the time.

So what do you do?????

Well since you ask I will reveal although it embarasses me .

You see we boys were naturally endowed to become hydraulic engineers . So we have always had a fascination with water flow and the like from building dams at the sea side to dropping big plonkers from the top of bridges onto floating debris as it went by .
The imagination is a big thing so the smallest gutter can become the Dover Straights and well when we see a big puddle we see more than njust a road hazard - we see the atlantic and the pacific and in our minds as they drift away on the sea of imagination we become Captain Cooks , Hooks , Eric the Red or whatever .

And then the phone rings and it is some rude beggar telling us that they can't get the product to specification and are thinking of calling on the liquidated damages clause . HO HO

None of the above this weekend- I was working and being driven round Torbay by a farting driver who didn't know how to use the aircon, with all the house calls within prime view of a beautiful blue bay with lovely wind and lots of boats having a great sail- so, so typical.

Still, off tomorrow- might go out on my own.

Other times when I can't get out sailing, I just get the colregs out and read them in a cold shower. /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif

All the above..........I am very very grumpy!!! sold the house end of last year..invested the dosh short term...rented....have been looking and looking and looooooooooking for that boat...been very very grumpy.....disagreements with swimbo....she wants a house....and one in france........still looooooooking every day for that boat....it will come sooooon......off next month to keep the peace france house hunting here we come..............still loooooooooooooking for that boat....I will get that boat before they nail me coffin lid down and shove it over the side for my burial at sea......thats my last wish...so there!!!!!!!

well do I just get a little one just to potter about in.........or do I hold out for that 40 odd footer????????

Get fairly grumpy, longest sentences have about two words in, log onto various boat related forums, read MBM for the 5th time, and generally curse at whatever I am doing that is preventing me from being out on the water.

Day boat. Get far more use.

Well I wondered what on earth was to follow. One way of getting peeps to read your thread. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
But, launched on Sunday and had to come from DellQuay in lovely NW breeze, but as HWMBO wanted to get his b#@~*y batteries fully charged, I wasn't allowed. And the d#* things had been on charge all winter anyway. Just the battery monitor needing re-setting. But it was still lovely to be back on the water. Bessie Spaniel was happy enough while we were in Chi harbour but more concerned when we were off Hayling. She retreated to the back of the car when she realised we were about to go sailing. She just needs to get back her sea legs, is it longer for dogs with 4 of them?
Bit pig-sick missing the girls weekend, sounded great. Perhaps next time. /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif
