Just had a quick weekend out to Alcudia with MartynK to check out our boats and enjoy the local Chateaubriand.

The weather forecast was pretty poor so no real expectation of any boating but when we arrived, mid afternoon Friday, it was quite mild and no wind so we quickly changed plans and headed out for a quick blast.

Sorry about picture quality but they are from my phone.

The smug look is because its not his fuel he is burning..................

This stretch of water is known locally as "Cape Horn" as its usually a bit choppy even on a good day, but not today /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif

Came in with the light fading and the sun setting, but a great run out.

A bit different to UK sea conditions this weekend,

Btw the Chateaubriand was, to use a Winnerism, "historic" as well /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Sooooo glad you enjoyed yourself.

By contrast, in the real world /forums/images/graemlins/ooo.gif you might care to put these words into a sentence:

Lobster
Niece
Waste disposal unit
Sodding

Sounds like National Lampoons Christmas Vacation /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

That was Sunday at my parents house.......

Christmas decoration boxes out of Garage, put in nice warm room while we had dinner, there must have been a mouse asleep, mouse woke up and trashed lounge /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Same thing happened two years ago......

Mum shouts to Border Collie " get it "

Dog takes one look at mouse and walks out /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif

Sold my boat for cash and shed a tear as it disappeared over the horizon.

Still, now got the money to buy a new one /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

Decorators moved out 10 days ago so this weekend involved:

Fill damage to plaster caused by door swung hard against wall by teenager.

Rehang door (having previously glued and clamped the area adjacent to the hinges).

Fix busted sky box

Replace DVD player

Watch "The Right Stuff" on TCM - "No bucks: No Buck Rogers" Wonder where we'd have been if the "X-20 Dyna-Soar" program hadn't been shelved in the rush to get ahead of the then USSR.

Watch one over of test match before remote control seized by youngest child

Work

Listen to I'm Sorry I Haven't A Clue

Drive to boat and check all ok - Yes it was

Chill over chicken and prawn curry and Aussie red with swmbo.

All in all, pretty good.

Phoned wife in India with the delightful news that her granddad had died
Went to boat show
ate
slept
watched TG

'bout it really

Checked boat ok
Put up tree
Wrote Christmas cards
Drank lager, eat lambshanks, drunk red wine and went to bed.

What is the past tense of "eat?"

Worst part of the weekend?

Reading texts from MartynK in Alcudia while listening to ropes and fenders squeek outside.

Still, I can continue this thread tomorrow evening with a new one titled "what did you do today?" /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

Hmm... I was cleaning my boat on Saturday and I stepped back onto my foot, caught and and pulled my big toenail off. To say it hurt a bit was an understatement. Still hobbling around. Remind myself not to wear rubber soled slip ons.

Nice to have got out for a bit though and have a nice 20knot plus thrash through the bay.

Prepared for exams /forums/images/graemlins/frown.gif

Getting hollers on the 18th though, so weather pending hope to get in a 60 mile cruise on St. Stephens Day, with a bit of donkeying about in between

... to visit the 2nd biggest building in the world (after the Boeing factory).
