What did SWMBO give up so you could buy your boat?

Thought we might see this from the other side, any altruistic SWMBOs out there (apart from the lady who sold her beloved car so a boat could be bought and had the joy of naming the boat...)?

Can't say I gave up anything so Mr Chellers could buy the boat - I was all for it as I knew it'd be much more to my liking than our monohull.

Ah, just when I was starting to worry about batchelordom ahead of a year of solid weddings.

Summer 2008. It seems to me that every weekend I shall either be the debenair batchelor friend of the groom flirting with the bridesmaids, or I shall be off sailing with no SWMBO to object.

It's a lonely existence really.

We realised yesterday that we might have a "window" in 2009 for a non-boaty summer holiday. After years of minimal camping with max family - "never again" - now seems kind of attractive.

Well. I do not think that she has yet worked out what she will be giving up...

Serioulsy it was SWMBO that was fully supportive with getting our first boat.

She had always known that we would buy a boat, we had discussed it for years, but had decided not to do so until we had a little place near to the sea. This year (after many years saving) circumstances enabled to get the little place by the sea.
So I tested the water and suggested that we now look seriously for a boat, her reply was Yes of course.

She had an even bigger grin on her face than me when we saw the boat that winked at us. She was dancing around the room when the offer was accepted.

Having such an understanding SWMBO makes me feel guilty for not telling her that I have just advertised her car for sale too /forums/images/graemlins/wink.gif
