What did Alice want?

Last summer in Sardinia we had a strange and inexplicable encounter with a fishing vessel, stopping on their way into port and then slowly reversing exactly onto our position while we were anchored alone outside a harbour. I've just gotten around to blogging about it and it made me remember how bizarre the whole thing really was. I wonder if anyone else has a better explanation for this behaviour.

Aaaah! Such nostalgia. But I prefer the 24 years without Webb Ellis version (rugby followers will understand).
