What currency to take for Croatia?

We're chartering in Croatia this summer, never been before. Wondered what currency to take / get, Euro or Kuna?

A few euros won't harm, but only kuna are universally accepted. Rates are better in Croatia than you're likely to get in the UK.
It's well worth checking what rates and charges your cashcard offers at ATMs: this may be best of all, but they vary considerably.

Yes kuna has Mac said , althought funny if you ask for any work to be done or Marina, haul out , it's is done in euros

Just had a look at this, good idea but Caxton doesn't offer Croatian Kuna... I'll see what else I can find

Just to add that there are ATMs everywhere in Croatia except in the tiny coastal villages. They accept all our UK cards.

If your cruising in the Adriatic, well worth buying this book. We got ours from the bookshop in old Dubrovnik - on the right hand side as you walk towards the clock!

What are the perks?

I was in Croatia in 2009 for a week, 2011 for 3 months and 4 months in 2013. I used Kuna for most things. As another has said Euro is used for 'big' purchases in Marina's.

Better exchange rate. (Particularly in the case of Kuna, since they evidently don't do them...)
