What Charting software do you use and why ?

OK - got your attention !!!!

Serious question as there are so many packages out there now and at varying prices.
In our group - GPS Navigator - we have some of the major software houses and also manufacturers of GPS invited in.

You NOW have the opportunity to come in and ask all those awkward questions that no-one would answer before ..... all the Service Desk calls that went unanswered ......

Take the opportunity - plunge in there with all the bugs, crashes ........ what ever has plagued your gear !!!

No joke ..... straight up - get in and have a go - ask them .... the rest of the group are users who have their questions etc. and we ALL learn from each other.

I'll second the Yahoo Group. An absolute mine of information. It has just shown me where to get all the US pilotage charts free of charge legally! Connection problems solved, user thoughts etc. Many thanks Nigel, very impressed.

Free UK charts?

Nope.

Frustrating isn't it that the Yanks take the attitude of "These electronic charts have been produced using taxpayers money, so we will not charge the taxpayer again to download them"

The UKHO say "these charts have been produced using taxpayers money, now lets charge them again"
