I'm at the point where my rebuilt AQ200 is ready to run, but my conglomeration of 2 carburettors-the original was too corroded to save, so I combined it with an ebay purchase-is not going to do the job.
I have been advised that I could buy a 4-barrel holley and converter plate, bolt on and go-cost approx £400, or I have found a shop in the states that will supply a remanufactured 2-barrel rochester, as per original fit, which works out at just over £200 (plus VAT probably)...
what would you do?
(and yes, I'm on a tight budget....)

"I'm on a tight budget" The its a "No brainer", buy the rochester, then you know it will fit and wont use as much fuel as the four barrel holley.

Or check with some of the suppliers in the UK, for a secondhand one or new, suss out the difference in price. But I'll bet a pound to a pinch of poo, you'll find a good one secondhand. They are not a rare engine.

PM me your location, I might be able to help source you a US Carb, cheaper than your being quoted and in the UK.

Otherwise start nocking up the UK hotrod shops like Duksville Speed Shop and Kerry @ Originals hot rod supply... All carry or can source Holley 4brls and single/dual rochesters...

I even picked up some NOS single rochesters off ebay a few months back for around 15 quid each...

If your down south there's a few off the shelf places also...
