What can I do with a shower float switch control box?

Well,
I was on ebay and someone was selling a couple of new old stock Shower pump control boxes, originally Beneteau.
Not only were they 99p a throw, but postage was about 2 quid.
Sober, and recognising a bargain, I bought one.
It is super, a Scheiber 36.16112.00,#It even has a manual override switch.

Now, although I have a shower, it is a manual switched affair with no sump and therefore no float switch, so not needed

So this is an interesting buy, but I am scratching for a project for it.

Suggestions anyone?

Since most gas is heavier than air, I suggest you donate it to Jiimi so that he can pump his bilges.

Another idea ( getting posh here ) how about wiring it so that if you get too much water in the bilges while sitting on her mooring , a flashing beacon activates as an alarm that can be seen from shore , maybe rig it into an auto dial alarm that rings you to say , 'hello Jim , I'm sinking'

Back to ebay then for the switch .. Then you need a pump .. Back to ebay .. Then a length of pipe .. Hm ebay .. Then power cable .. Hmm ebay again .. THEN WHAT .. Quit while your ahead .. You may have to buy a boat to put it in .. But it will have to leak otherwise no point in buying the relay in the first place .. Just think the guy who sold it to you must have realised all this ... Already .... /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

... a reasonable surmise if you arent a regular reader of mine. If you were, you would know that my boat is chock full of gadgets and inventive stuff.

I even have a pulsating light that tells me when the water pump is running with no taps turned on.....

Hi,

Do you still have this one? I'm looking for one to replace my (broken) one.....

Regards, Frans

Relay/detector set-up for pumping water between the wing tanks? You do have water ballast don't you? I reckon that could be a whole 'nother chapter in FC gadgetry ( and half a knot more and bonus points from the anti-heeling crew faction).
Well, you did ask..

What about a fridge drain sump pump floaty switchy thingy too?
Joking apart, my last boat I fitted a separate ' bilge' container and foot pump for removing malodorous mankiness from the icebox.
