I would like to have a go on a fin-keel Foxcub. Merit is fantastic on a reach or a run but makes the leeway associated with bilge keelers. I would love to see what performance I could get out of a fin-keel version.

One of them big french racing Trimarans when their having their annual bash at Douarnenez. Hydroptere would be exciting too. Might be a bit hard on the back though when you fall off the plane.

A week or so ago I was watching one of those hydrofoil Int Moths from my rather more sedate vessel. What a fantastic sight although the "pilot" was tacking rather than gybing so it wasn't possible to keep the hull out of the water through the turns.

They have moved on somewhat from the one I had in the late seventies which had a rotating mast, wings and an open transom and I thought that was pretty radical. When there wasn't anything else to do I often used to sail it backwards so that it would submerge and then accelerate forwards. Goodness knows how the rig stood it! Happy days.
