Hello all!
New to this forum I'd like to ask for your suggestions on boat makes & models.
After owning seven planing hull boats (from 16' to 24' - up to 50 knots) and mastering a variety of semi- and fulldisplacement boats, motorsailers over the past 42 years, our needs have matured and preferences are now
-30'-40' motorboat
-semi-displacement hull (or planing, able to do moderate speeds)
-capable and comfortable when at sea even when caught in F6
-top speed at least in the lower twenties
-diesel power, one or two engines
-no sterndrives
-twin helm in/out, preferably flybridge
-must be fairly new or in such condition
-indoor seating layout that allows both helmsman and navigator a free view while underway (sometimes called co-pilot or navigator seat)
-two cabins, both with proper access (no acrobatics in midcabin or side cabin). May be aft cabin.
-toilet/bath
-recent electronics or priced accordingly
From studying adds it seems as if Aquastar (and other channel-island pedigree boats), Beneteau Antares 10.80, certain Colvic Suncruisers or Nimbus's, Storebro's or even fast trawlers, Jeanneau Merry Fisher 10, a few Fairline, Princess or Birchwood models might be right. Obviously age is important but more so the condition of the boat and machinery.
Budget isn't fixed but some £70000 would suit fine. We are aware the it might be too tight for new or 'as new' vessels.
Any suggestions most appreciated
