What are your more quirkier loves of the liveaboard lifestyle.

Sleeping under way.. always a deep refreshing sleep, with fantastic Hollywood style dreams if I remember them.

Sleeping with the boat securely tied on to a big buoy, in a gale.. you have all the crashing noise and excitement of howling wind, knowing you don't need to do anything except enjoy it! That brings the most vivid dreams, usually involving the sea.

However when sleeping in bricks and mortar in London, I am acutely aware of the weird fixed immobility of the building, and also a consciousness of being surrounded by ten million utter strangers, most of them from alien cultures, and a fair proportion of them completely insane.

I am very lucky to live most of the time on a yacht. On the mole in Horta, in between the yacht paintings, is painted, "Sail to Feed Your Soul", I know what they meant!

When we lived on land we only slept in "our bedroom" - on the boat at sea we feel free to crash in which ever cabin is most convenient and no one ever worries or comments. Just love freedom from convention!
