for id have 4 of these gimble bracket things all i know they came off old ship in southampton in 50s they are silver plate of great quality and marked on each summers and payne southampton

also the burgee any idea what club

Re- the gimballed jobbies. We had one for a small oil lamp. Bogey had the same on his yacht for his whisky tumbler. Take your pick.

I'd think oil light gimbals. Have you Googled for the name on them?

I think Fantasie 19 might be on the right track regarding the house flag!

the burgee is for institute of navigation or master navigator... something like that, whazisname from sell up and sail was a member ISTR

Yes, oil lamp holders. Similar designs still made and on view in any Nauticalia shop or chandlers catalogue. Not usually as fancy as those, now mostly brass strip, but suspect the interior designer for the ship had been looking in some Art Nouveau pattern books when s/he commissioned them.
