what antifreeze for a mercruiser

Afternoon what antifreeze should I get to flush my mercruiser engine out with. It will be emptied out before going in the sea

If its just for winterizing then any autofactors or Halfords own make will do. If its for use in the engine then don't mix the old type (green) with the newer silicate free type (yellow) as it will react and forms a coating in the cooling system which reduces the heat transference and you can/will get overheating. Same rule applies to Volvo also.

You should flush your engine with Propylene Glycol it is none toxic but does the same job as Ethylene glycol any Mercury Mercruiser dealer sell it P/No:67-885951
