I've bit the bullet, and bought 9 litres of coppercoat for the hull, but can't bring myself to spend £218.50 for 1 litre of propspeed, ouch! /forums/images/graemlins/shocked.gif there was me thinking coppercoat was expensive! although some of you guys really believe in it.

My thinking is that on a duopro installation the cavitation erodes the root of the rear prop's blades, so no matter what product I use it will still get removed by this cavitation, could always buy a set of ss props, but that's not in the budget this year.

What does the panel recommend as an alternative?

I've used Trilux on the o/drives, both the a/f itself, which worked well, and the prop-o-shield spray, which was ok, rather than great. This season due to slight shopping error, I ve ended up with one of that and one of the Blakes version, so lets see if there is any difference. I ve never used anything on the props.Get a very small amount of scale perhaps over a season, but thats all.

Coppercoat is suitable for use on aluminium BUT be sure to apply over the recommended primer or barrier coat. The same applies to Trilux and equivalent Blakes paints.

I have used for a number years International Trilux on the outdrives with good results. As for the props I have given them a good clean and left them untreated then during the season make sure I give them a good wipe over with a green scotchbrite pad to get rid of any potential growth / slime. Last wipe over in October of just props gave me another 1.5 knots!
Just back in from dirty weekend so looking forward to the Easter break.

We've used Trilux in the past - very disappointed with the results, but it was applied by "professionals".
Used it again this year, applied by my goodself, so we'll see if there's any improvement.
Yet to find anything that works on the props - have tried the Trilux recommendation this year but not holding out much hope of success.

Make sure your anti corrosion set up is top class if you go to the SS prop way.

Not very helpful - sorry.
