Went to a talk tonight at South Woodham Ferrers YC given by the Roach Sailing Association old salts.

Subject was the Havengore (Bridge) experience. Well observed, no silly bearings, but described each withy in turn and what you see when you get there. Good use of the low tide photos on Google Earth.
I have been through many times, but Lynn and I enjoyed it immensely. They are planning an anyone who shows up trip through on June 3rd, starting at Yokesfleet Creek about 10.00am, out through the Havengore Bridge and back round the Whitaker

Thanks to SWFYC for hosting the event.

Roach Sailing Assoc does not have a clubhouse or any facilities, but they do have a very eclectic collection of boats and sailors. Well, me, for one.

Well I have to say that to transit Havengore Bridge is one of the things I would love to in "Roach" - she has not been back in that river system for atleast 20 years, and very possibly more. Problem is that I only launch on the 5th June and then we have SYH classics that weekend, so it will be later on in the season I am afraid. Otherwise I would have loved joining you on the 3rd June.

I'd love to do that, but will be back hard at work following my weekend escape in Belgium

ooh that would be excellent. Plenty of water for a fin thing presumably. 3rd June is a Tuesday so a weekend in Burnham first /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I may need to find a crew (cough cough).

Jim,

Don't advertise the 'last of the summer wine marine division', as I heard it fondly described, it might get too popular.

p.s. I still think you need to move your mooring down to paglesham.

Roger, search Yahoo Groups for Roach Sailing Assoc, waste 6 quid on a membership /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif and join some people very much up our street.
There will be a Shipman 28 drawing 5 ft leading the charge through Havengore on the day.

Roger

I will give you a hand to run aground, Happy to leave Art, safely tucked away for this adventure /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif and should we miss all the sticky muddy bits then a visit to the green man is very inviting provided they have prayed for forgiveness and restocked with the black stuff
