What Acid to Strip Chrome Plating from Plastic?

Nigel, I am sending you a PM.

I am currently having new tools made for a new model of Mini which includes chromed plastic parts manufacture. I asked the company for their best advice. They have kindly offered to strip and replate for you gratis.

Please don't all rush - this is a one off!!

That's a fantastic offer, thank you. However I don't want them re-plated, just stripped so I can paint them white.
