I would and do

I would certainly be prepared to lean an outboard against either of my cars

and frequently do

both are £500 bangers

the outboard is probably worth more than the car

the polo I share with two teenagers and it is therefore well beaten up - inside and out

the escort estate did many years service in the furtherance of my sons topper sailing career

every weekend the car was loaded up with a topper on the roof

after the third topper drop dent I gave up and now realise that the only reason for keeping a car cleanish is to keep the rozzers away

old cars are amazingly reliable these days

thank goodness I no longer have to worry about constant velocity joints that only lasted 12,000 miles before developing the corner clunking behaviour

Doesn't look like a brass tank to me & I didn't think the legs were ever brass either, but I don't know, mine's a "modern" one anyway. :D

Yea 'tis - that's a brass 'long-range tank'. The legs themselves weren't brass, but the exhaust tubes often are. About half of my collection have brass tubes.

Ah - forgot to mention - the brass exhaust tubes usually don't look like brass (unless they've been fettled up) - they're plated with nickel or chrome - or something similar.
