Listening to the 05:20 shipping forecast this morning I thought what a pleasure it was to listen to the dulcet tones of Susan Powell presenting it, so much more pleasurable than many of the screeching voices we hear from many of the females that seem to be prévalant in broadcasting today.

Was up at 0550 this morning for an early start taking a yacht from Rubicon to Puerto Calero, lift out. Lovely sunrise looking east towards Africa. As you do.

There are some that read it who do not appear to have a clue about it's purpose, how it is transcribed and used the way they just rattle through it sometimes in monotone voices. Most are really good.

Having said that I still love listening to it in bed at night, very reassuring and hypnotic. A great tradition.

With a quick look at windy.com just to check? :)

Oh yes, but I used windfinder. Also tide times and sunrise, sunset. Been a bit of a swell running too, so passageweather revealed that nasty low over the other side of the Azores. Big storm.

However the result here is a pleasant easterly but with reduced viz, Calima, but some lovely sunsets and sunrises.

Been out quite a bit recently and back to Calero tomorrow for a short sail. Must remember me suntan cream!

What, you don't have to get up in the night? Or is it just that you refuse to look at any clock? Anyway, more power to your bladder (prostate etc)...

Mike.

Turned the clock to the wall:encouragement:
Only time I look at it now is when I have to catch an early tide. That is why I used to get up early for 50 years- So I do not have to now.
