I've just returned from two weeks in South Africa and am astonished by how much the place has matured. The political fighting/killing has almost dissappeared completely and has been replaced by at attitude of "together, we will make this work". I was so impressed, that I signed on the dotted line for a brand-new Parlay 40 Catamaran (subject to the sale of dear old Stingo of course!) and now cannot wait to leave the UK for those sunny shores where I'll be able to watch my new love being built.

Looks superb John. Congratulations. I would be interested in the thought processes leading to the selection of this one as say compared with a French one. The layout reminds me of the Casamance.

John.

Very interesting. I am thinking of buying a cat in SA in about 12 months.

Did you by any chance look at the Dean 440 ?

wonderful boat,John.Of course you got them to include the busty broad to clinche the deal!
In my limited experience,South African built means well built, boats and everything else.
for instance,I have a washing machine here,a Defy Automaid. Its more than 20 years old , is running as I type, and has never needed a spare part, nor any attention of any kind. The casing is Corten steel!

1: I don't like the finish of the French cats.
2: I am able to customise my layout almost without any limitations.
3: The financial God's in SA are forecasting that the SA Rand will sink against the US$ & UK£ soon by about 15% so despite already getting a good price, it will improve with the weaking Rand.

Wow its huge! It'll be a great party boat - I guess you are planning on having lots of friends to stay. The galley looks bigger and better equipped that the average home kitchen, and its even got patio doors, so it'll appeal to those of a mobo persuasion as well.

Like most cats it still looks bl00dy ugly though, but then, beauty is in the eye of.....or was that mud in the eye...?

Enjoy it mate, especially the blonde waiting in your forward cabin! /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif
