What a nice man

A few weekends ago as we motored into Chichester passing Sparkes we spotted a sailing dinghy drifting down the harbour in zero wind, I offered him a tow and he accepted my offer. We towed him back to the entrance at Northney and i appologised for not being able to take him the last 1/4 mile to the Langstone sailing club.

I'd forgotten all about it until we went down to the boat on Friday where in the cabin was a bottle of very nice red wine and a note saying thank you to a fellow sailor. He'd taken the trouble to drop it into the office.

What a nice tale. I towed a Squib out to the mouth of the Crouch so he would get home to the Blackwater on the tide with little wind. Got a nice note and a cheery wave, but no wine in the envelope!
Shows that there are still plenty of decent folk around besides the headline grabbing scrotes.

I picked up a Hobie Cat off Colne Point that kept capsizing and got a good scratch down the side of my hull from his boom when he backed the jib for some unknown reason!

Bah humbug!
