Although over 60% of the workforce are laid off in the boat factories here in Norway sales for us are meteoric.
We have sold 30 boats since xmas which is more than in summer last year, they range from 20ft runabouts up to 31ft Hydrolifts, several 30ft cruising types.
A Princess 50, 62, and in ONE month 2 Princess 95's at something over £7m a piece!
The one we had at LIBS was sold before she reached her home port in Stavanger, and one of the new owners mates ordered one this week. Obviously 'keeping up with the Jones' is alive and well.

Went to look at new waterside (well almost!) properties at the weekend as they seemed to be sticking. Told that 17 had sold in the last 2 weeks. The ones I was interested in have only 4 left and are released next Saturday. Salesperson says 50 people waiting in line ready to go. Mostly investment properties. Probably helped by the development featuring on a property show on the box. Partly explains £2Bn withdrawn from savings last month.

Thinking of doing the same, but probably missed the bottom of the market for surplus property!

Well it sounds like it's because you're selling a UK brand (Princess) at never to be repeated euro prices. It's a double whammy supersave at the moment, as Princess bought all the parts and engines at last years exchange rates, but are now selling the boats at much more favourable (for Euro buyers) rates.

I also think Princess have some very good boats at the moment, certainly the V series have gone down well, the P50 is best in class, and the 95 is very stylish for that size of boat.

I doubt your competitors, selling Ferretti's and Azimut's, are feeling quite so bouyant.

Yes, that had slipped my mind, but I think the point still holds, UK boats are mighty cheap next to Euro boats for a Norwegian buyer.

It is variable.

30% of our department were chopped in Jan, but the net result is that we have had to pass on several tens of k's of work because of the lack of appropriately skilled people. D'Oh!
