Does anyone have any feedback (good or bad) on the Whale BE9003 'Field Sensor' bilge switch? (same function as a float-switch).

I have read the thread from around 9/2013 but it doesn't really say anything specific.

I am specifically wondering about long term reliability and whether oily bilge water causes any problems. I do note that it consumes a constant 8mA (which equates to around 6Ah/month).

And yes ... I know that 'ALL' float switches are notoriously unreliable. (personally I have found the roller-ball type the best of the bad bunch).

I reckon 6AH per month is a lot cheaper then the problem the last (leaking) switch caused to my anodes and prop tips !

Fitted one about a year ago and no problems so far, but having said that it has not had to operate apart from when I have washed through the bilge when it worked impeccably. If I need to replace the other float switches on OB I shall fit these.
