Has anybody else had bad service from an online chandlery called Weymouth Sailsports?
I ordered some bits over 6 weeks ago. They debited my card immediately.
The lead time quoted on the website was 2-3 days. After a couple of weeks I tried to find out the status of my order, but after many attempts, I have never been able to contact them.
They do you not answer their customer sales line (which happens to be a mobile number!)
They do not respond to messages left on their answering machine.
They do you not respond to e-mails.
They quote a telephone number on their facebook page that is not actually theirs.
We are not talking about a lot of money here, but I feel that I should highlight my experience to the forum, so that others do not get stung.

Update

I received an e-mail this morning from Weymouth Sailsports apologising wholeheartedly for the poor service that I have received.

It appears that their website is quite new and they have experienced some start up technical problems which has caused a few orders to not register in the order system and unfortunately mine appears to have been one of them.

They have arranged for a full refund and will arrange to have the goods sent out to me as well ASAP :encouragement:

Well I can report that they have not improved in the least over a year later. Zero communication about my order dispatch, never answer their mobile phone (they don't even have a landline number), can't be bothered to respond to voicemail messages. A company to avoid. Similar tales of woe on their Facebook page.

Thank you LIB. I have now heard from Mark with a response which offers an apology along with something akin to an excuse, claiming that they've moved to a new building and have computer problems which mean that they're unable to hear the phone ringing. Seeing as their phone number is a mobile, I'm not quite sure how that works. I'm afraid their response has done nothing at all to change my point of view that this is not a company that really should be doing business with an online store...
