Never seen it so empty! We made the best of the weather and had a lovely night run over there, moonlit and flat enough to see buoys & pots. Not many others made it though, this was the Friday:

The wind was pushing a bit of a chop into the entrance though

I think you got the timings perfect with the conditions !

I bailed out - my pontoon lost a float and pulled out some teak planking -leaving huge areas of pontoon with just the supporting steel members !

I got a flight to Guernsey !!

Quite a contrast between the state of the water in the entrance to Weymouth and on the south side of the South Pier towards the Mixen.
