We\'ve all done it!

I've gone and dropped the screw-on cap that goes on my water filling thingy into the drink and lost it. It's an alloy so a magnet won't retrieve it.

I've searched for a replacement cap (they MUST do them) but with no luck.

Anyone else done this recently and found a replacement aomewhere?


It's threaded with an inteior mesurement of 1.87" (45.4mm) and 2" (51mm) outside of the thread.

Speak for yourself. I've never dropped a Seagull filler cap or a Maglite over the side.

What does S/S mean?

I've now found a chrome Plastimo one on mailspeedmarine for £23 - the cap itself isn't avalable. And I can see why - there should be a little chain on the inside to prevent accidental loss.

Endeavour Chandlery in Gosport have some in at £15.
(I believe they are old stock from Adrenalin Chandlery hence the low price.)

Schutz staeffel. It's the name of those pill box hats they gave train guards in the late 1960s. So an S/S filler cap is just what it sounds like.

Someone dropped a vibrator in Port Solent marina lock a few years ago - it turned up with all the phones etc during lock servicing.
