A year or so back there were ads on the web for a 25 foot gaff cutter called a Westward 25. (It was called Del Boy!?*!) I think it was a grp hull but "trad" fit out. Long keel in the style of the Heard 23 / 28 or maybe the Tamarisks. If it had a grp hull presumably there is a mould and someone has made some more of them. Does anyone know the history and how many were made etc? I like the idea of a larger version of the Tamarisk 22/24 without going up to a 28 or 29 footer

Del Boy's hull was by Going Gaff of Essex, the mould being taken from a Falmouth working boat (the Iris Elizabeth), strengthened since it was the original owner's intention to sail her to Nova Scotia. It is grp and long keel, and similar to Heard 25. She is 25ft, 32 ft overall with bowsprit, with full headroom and plenty of space below. I bought her in Essex in the spring and she's now in Salcombe. I don't know what has happened to the moulds but certainly it is a powerful and very strong hull. Let me know if you want any more details (though M K Lewis Boat Sales in Essex would be a better bet for what has happened to the moulds.)
