What a superb weekend we had, Mermaid Quay, Penarth overnight then lunch at WSM on Sunday.

No chance of getting anywhere in close to collect daughter! Apparently the tides didn't reach the predicted height but even at high water there were still boats on the ground in the 'harbour'. Went ashore in the dinghy so she wasn't stuck

Still, WSM looks suprisingly nice from anchor! Pics included but only taken from phone!

Nice pics, especially the "exceptionally straight wake" shot with the flat holm light. Had a similar run out yesterday with Klara B, first time over to Weston beach and was surprised how shallow when so far out, it must dry out a hell of long way on springs any tips on the dangers around Weston beach.

I went over a few ago at low tide and took some shots, in anticipation of boating over. Yoou can't even see the water line it goes out so far.

Especially amazing thing about the straight wake is the missus was driving at the time. It had taken 2 days for the concept of cross track error to sink in but looks like she's getting it then. Oh hang on, I think I might have said 'aim at that big wheel over there'!:D

Nice pictures and a wake to be proud of :-).

I think you need about an 11 meter tide at Cardiff to get into Knightstone Harbour and moor against the dolphin to get ashore.

As far as I know there arent any real dangers ,The beach is gradually sloping sand and mud. Black Rock down at the entrance to the river Axe is obvious as it doesnt completely dry. It can be rough with overfalls near the seaward end of Brean Down with fresh wind against the tide.
