Evening all,

Someone at the yard helped me out by measuring the p-bracket on my Westerly Storm so I can order a new cutlass bearing, but they couldn't measure the outside diameter of the bearing itself. I have the length: 100mm, the shaft diameter: 25mm, but I need the bearing OD. Can anyone help at all please?

Thanks loads, James

I expect Westerly used the same P bracket in many of their boats using a 25mm shaft. Unfortunately I have not needed to change my cutlass bearing on my Fulmar so cannot confirm the size. However, checking Sillette's web site they only supply one size to fit a 25mm shaft.

That’s great, thanks for that. Do you think the bearing OD is likely to be 11/2” though or 40mm?! Would Westerly have used metric or imperial in 1987?

My Fulmar was built in 1980 and it has a metric shaft, so I doubt they would have reverted back to imperial measurements.

Just out of interest are you a member of the Westerly forum and the Westerly Owners Association?

Thanks Concerto. I have been a member of the WOA, but currently am not. The boat will be up for sale as soon as I can get down there to photograph her.
