Hi,
does anyone know the exact length of the propshaft on a Westerly Seahawk? I can't measure as the boat is still in the water but I need to line up a replacement to minimise the time out of the water before all the sunshine dissappears!

You may get more joy on the Westerly Owners Association site. Be aware that Westerly used more than one supplier, and there is no guarantee that there is a "standard" size. Much safer to measure the actual and have the shaft made to suit. Very expensive if you get it wrong!

If the engine coupling end doesn't need any tapering or fancy machining (like on my boat) then you could just get one made a little too long and cut it to exact length yourself once the boat is out the water.

Also wondered, do you have all the other info that would be needed (propeller taper details etc) that would be needed to machine a new shaft?

Finally I would add I also had good experiences with T. Norris, and reckon that they would be able to make a shaft on quite fast turnaround (maybe next day?). I think they repitched my prop for the new engine and made a new shaft in 2 days, but I didn't ask for any special rush job.

Chris
