Some friends have bought a Konsort but unlike all other Konsorts I have seen it only has one small square porthole and not the classic two large, two small of so many Westerlys. Is this because it is an early one?
[/ QUOTE ] It could indeed. I might be one of several that were part built when Westerly went bust. We tied up along side one of those several years ago but the owner had taken trouble to source all the standard parts that Westerly would have used to complete it so that it was indistinguishable from a 100% factoty buit one!
My Konsort is a 1980 boat, which is very early in production, and was bought a a home completion by the first owner. I have her stripped out and am rebuilding her over a number of years.
I believe the two small opening portholes in the forward cabin were an optional extra on some Konsorts. A few original owners did not have them installed although the majority did.
The portholes in the heads and locker were standard fittings.
Interesting that two portholes optional - leave the door open in the heads or wear a headtorch (ha ha get it?) - there is a Moody 31 in Bradwell that has no hatch in the saloon - who wouldn't order that?

Absolutely, definitely, positively, a Konsort
[/ QUOTE ] And compared with Clyde Wanderer's Hummigbird ,much criticised for its mainsheet angle earlier this week on S'butt, that is one lousy mainsheet angle!
It's certainly a Konsort, 1981/2 or earlier as the pushpit has a rail that goes full width. Later versions had a wire that could be unclipped to access the boarding ladder.
Somebody has fitted a non standard windscreen, Hallberg Rassy style.
