Happy new year to all. I recently saw a video of a delivery on a Westerly Duo 20 (Wheelhouse version). This boat has an outboard rudder with a tiller, but I also saw a wheel inside the cabin, presumably for rougher conditions and comfort. What I could not see, is how these are interconnected. I might assume cables between the inside wheel and the rudder, but they were not visible, and moreover, it seems as though this would place a lot of friction on the tiller/rudder when using the "outside" steering if it is always connected to a wheel in the cabin.. Can anyone explain this system and how it works? Much appreciated and best wishes from the US..Cheers

From Guide No 17 , "The Westerly Motorsailers - Vulcan, Riviera and Konsort Duo" on the Westerly Owners Association website

re the Konsort Duo:

The first 9 boats were steered with a cable system which was a bit heavy, so that subsequent boats were given a hydraulic system from which the tiller could be disconnected to give back the feel when sailing.
