Hi,

We have teak decks on our Sea Lord and we have a problem with the dowels coming off the screws that hold the teak down. Now I suppose that the deck should be replaced but we arn´t able to afford anything like that, but we would like to put new caps on.

Does anybody know if it is true that the screws were just while the deck was bonded and that they can now be removed to put longer dowels in?

The boat was built in 1984/5.
If anyone is part of the Westerly Owners Associan can you post this for me there?

Thanks

Pete

Pete,
Go to the westerly owners website, http://westerly-owners.co.uk/html/discussion_list.html and join their discussion group. Then ask that question to "them that knows".

This way, you can post it yourself, and get any replies directed to your own email address. Also, you can go into the archive and look back on other posts concerning decks.
