I might not get back up to the boat for a week or so and I need to know the length of the boom asap. I have checked the various sites which give technical information but this does not seem to figure in any of them. I would be obliged to anyone who might know the answer to this question - it is the original boom from when she was built.

Any sailmaker should be able to tell you the E measurement, which is tack to clew. Google suggests 11.5' / 3.5m.

That is most helpful - I am getting a new tarpaulin for the winter and since it fits on the boom the length is pretty important.

IIRC my original Proctor boom is 12' long, that would be about right if the E measurement is 11.5'.
