Am going down to Romsey for the West System Workshop at the end of January. Does anyone on the forum know of any suitable accommodation close by for a couple of nights. I'm thinking in terms of a small hotel/pub - one with a cosy bar out of preference.
Has any forumite been to the workshop recently?
Much obliged for any help. /forums/images/graemlins/smile.gif

I went a few years ago and did the general epoxying workshop. I thought it was well worth the money. As well as having a day out and learning a lot I came away with a handy toolbox, assembled using WEST epoxy, and about £30 worth of WEST materials and also met some interesting fellow boat owners.

There was a one-day course planned aimed specifically at wooden boat repairing but it was cancelled "due to lack of interest". I think they told me they needed about 12 participants to make it worth running. If 11 other forumites are interested we could perhaps revive it?

I sent swmbo last year when I couldn't make it. There is a hotel/restaurant in the town about 10 mins from the workshop. Can't remember the name. I will have a look. She really enjoyed the course and was the only female there.

Is this a one day course, and if so can you let me know which day it is held on.
Many thanks

Yes, it's a one-day course - "The West Epoxy Workshop - Beginners' Course" on Thursday 25 January. Cost: £130.

As Twisterowner says, you come home with the toolbox you made and a pack of West System products.
They had a series of days planned but I don't have any other info to hand.
Good Luck, Colin.
