West System Beginners\' Course.

Just returned from the above one-day course at Wessex Resins' premises in Romsey. I can thoroughly recommend it to anyone interested.
The staff who run the course are well-organised, helpful, very knowledgeable and friendly.
The day is cram-ful with plenty of hands-on teaching and time for discussion of individuals' specific boat problems.
The courses have a waiting list and I understand that a new series will be announced in June. If you express an interest with Wessex Resins before then, you will be e-mailed directly allowing you time to get an application in as soon as possible.
If anyone would like more info about what was involved just PM me.

Re: West System Beginners\' Course.

I have done the course and thought that it was expensive for what it was. Its true there was lots of useful info provided but I thought it really a sales exercise for them and with a group of 19 people all paying £130 each for the day albeit with a reasonable buffet lunch, they could have at least thrown in the book (booklet really) that they were pushing so hard to sell for £5.
Compare that price with the £100 for the 2 day non commercial maintenance courses at Reading College
Be aware that this course doesn't cover any gel coat repairs, the course is limited to the use of epoxy for bonding and hole repairs.
