West Sussex Boat Jumble - waterlogged!!

Puzzled! This event (due to take place on 18 March) has been cancelled due to a waterlogged site. Do they have some sort of extraordinary weather forecast predicting monsoon on 17 March!!!??

Or is, perhaps, some dodgy site selection? Is it beyond the wit to select an alternative site?

More interestingly, the www.boatjumbleassociation.co.uk website is not working.

Could it be the organisers who are waterlogged?

Or maybe they have taken it down whislt they alter the site.....

This area has been prone to heavy flooding in past years. With the heavy rain we have had recently, perhaps they have decided that it will not be dry enough for vehicles in March. 'Dodgy site' is a more likely explanation.

What's the ground usually used for?

Ground keepers can get a bit touchy if they're expected to tart everything up for the summer season after damage has been done by an event.

OTOH, if it's just a farmer's field...

I think it is just a farmers field, I think also, that this event was canned last year or year before for same reason?

I don't know, never having visited the actual site before. Looking at the map it shows several adjacent flooded quarries which wouldn't help!. Pity as I wanted to visit too.
