"The Company shed" opposite Gowan's sail loft. Truly excellent seafood served in a very basic wooden shed - take your own wine, beer &c. No booking, so best to arrive early, say, 11.30 and it's closed on Mondays. /forums/images/graemlins/tongue.gif

The best place to buy Native oysters is actually Walton on Naze.

The layings are in Kirby Creek. The owner has his shed in Mill Lane next to Bedwells.

He exports his entire production to Belgium, where they appreciate these things, but is more than happy to sell a dozen or two to anyone who looks friendly and interested - at half the Mersea price.
