Coincidentally with Judders, at the prize giving last nightwe were chatting about next year regatta weeks in the west inc Eire, and I wondered if we had got the lot with Pwhelli, Cork, Falmouth, Fowey. Which ones have we missed that are worth considering?

Cork is one I'd like to go back to. Shoreside there was a bit too much made of the non sailing activity and ladies night was tragic. However the racing was good as was the drinking if you avoided the racer chasers and the sponsors... What am I saying? I shouldn't have gone with the then SWMBO.

It's the IRC Euros next year and one of my crew has invited us over so may be there, holiday permitting.

I've never done Falmouth. Njos nailed it last year and had a whale of a time. Very sorry I missed it.

Dartmouth I love. It's a regatta that encompasses the whole town and not just Yachties which makes for a much nicer atmosphere. The standard of sailing is decent.

I've sailed Falmouth but on someone else's boat, and been on my mooring there for several Falmouth weeks. It isnt what it was in attendance terms and I guess having a "whale of a time" would depend more on who you sailed with than the general atmosphere. Course organisation left something to be desired too.

Sorry mate, but I'm not sure I can fully agree with that statement. I think you are being more than a smidge unfair with that generalisation that certainly matches neither my experiences, nor those of anyone else to whom I've chatted about it.
