Anybody know if the new berths are ready yet; and any details about pilotage, weather conditions for entry, etc?

There was something in either YM or PBO (sorry, I can't remember which one) this month which included an aerial photo. We weren't planning to go that way this year so I didn't commit it to memory but according to the official website it won't be completed until November.

You're right, how time flies. Looking at some of the other pages there, it would appear that the new pier was opened by the Duke of York 4 weeks ago but they've not finished demolishing the old pier yet (photo in this article) so I think I'll leave it until next year. Elsewhere it mentions that there will be a slipway and "shelter for boats up to 2m draught" but no word of moorings, although there's a long waiting list for moorings in West Bay so visitors' needs may come after the taxpayers'.

Wouldn't want to be there in anything from E to SE above a F4. There is a pontoon but only 1 side in use!! Seems to be inhabited by local fishing boats, suspect visitors will have to tie up to the wall as they always used to do.

FWIW a friend (non boaty) went there by car last week. He said that it looked as if it was fully open.

I hope to visit this season.
