Here in Sussex today has 4 minutes more sunlight than yesterday. At the beginning of January we had barely 8 hours of daylight. By this weekend we'll have 10.5 hours!

In 4 weeks time there's more daylight than not.

Looks like I may survive another year of S.A.D!
 
Good news for you all "down there":cool:
Yesterday the sun rose over the hill near my house at 08:25 and set behind the other hill at 16:05. Not a cloud in the sky all day. Fantasic clear sky again now.
On 31st December the sun rose much further to the south at 10:15 and set at 13.45.ish.
On 21st June it rises in the northeast around 03:40 (rarely up to see it!!) and sets in the northwest around 22:05

As you say, "we're on the UP". Let's hope we all get a cracking Spring-Summer-Autumn this year.
 
This is great and all very well, but some of us are facing getting the boat into a decent state before the Scuttlebutt cruise to Poole and could do without being reminded of the ticking clock !

Oh, don't remind me, Rival Spirit is in exactly the same state as she was when lifted in October. Looks like being a busy March ....

However, loving the extra daylight, here in Brizzol, it's light by the time I leave for work 640 and still light enough at 1800, ah spring has sprung.

About -4 first thing this morning with freezing fog in Suffolk. Glorious sunshine and warmth at lunch time. And freezing and foggy again by four.

I wish it would bloody make it's mind up.

Oh you lot with your "sailing seasons" :D Mine has been ready since launch in August!

I assume you're all aware of the forecast for a good Feb/March then dire wet summer like last year? Perhaps better to put off the maintenance until June and enjoy the weather for the next month instead?

Be careful what you wish for. It'll probably make it's mind up to be freezing fog all day and night!

Snow forecast for the journey to work Friday, plus Saturday morning.:-( Roll on spring.

it depends on ones' definition of ' ready '...

I'm already battening down the hatches for a lovely ' summer ', if it turns out like the last two I'm off to Australia and Cape Horn for a relaxing break !

Well I define it as the boat is ready to sail, and since I've been sailing a few weeks back I'm pretty sure she's still fine to sail :D I'll be down this weekend so can double check then with a quick outing :P
 
Chuffing cold in Brittany right now....
Had a day of champaign sailing on Friday, butnright now the wind is howling a Easterly bringing lots of clear, but veery cold air fromsomewhere like the Ural Mountains... roll on spring..
