Peak holiday season and it seems deathly quiet... And the weather has been fine!

Was out today and the weather was far from fine :(

Pah!

Lightweights!

So it was a bit rainy...

And it was a bit blustery...

It was warm!

And it ended nicely and we dressed in all our gear and had a good time...

It does seem very very quiet though... I noticed that none of the Britannia boats were out when we left shotley today... That's gotta be bad news at this time of the year...

Don't know where you were for that, but we had great weather sailing back down to the Crouch from Walton on Sunday. There was even enough S in the wind to make a nice reach all the way to the spitway. Well it was lovely except for the torrential downpour just as we came into the crouch. But by the time we came to the Inner Crouch it was SO hot we were in vests and sunhats! Sat in the pub garden from 6-8pm in t-shirts and shorts. Weird weather.

I think we are gonna poodle around here until Saturday.. Maybe go back to the Hamford or Ramsholt...

A beautiful sail from Pirate Island to Woodbridge. We never did more than 3 knots on the GPS until the Deben entrance but it was one of those days when no one cared. I sat on the wheelhouse roof in shorts steering via remote, wife and various daughters sat in the sun or slept. Got to just short of the Deben bar and there was a bit of rain; which meant shorts and tee shirts inside the wheelhouse :D

The forecast for the rest of the week is excellent so we're going to explore Butley creek.

Some of us....

Have not been able to take leave from July to September due to some sort of events happening in E London, and having to work to cover 24x7 via 12 hr shifts... So don't get me going....

It seems that only two categories of people are ideally suited to go sailing: the unemployed and the retired.
Not keen to try the first, but looking forward (counting the days till 01 Dec 2016) to the second.

Can I just point out that there is no such thing as retired! Occasionally when I was working I got the weekend off. Not often mind but now and again. Appears I must go to Mauritius for work again in a couple of weeks. Oh the strain of it all
