Do you always have the VHF switched on when at sea?

My Dubarry's have finally sucumbed and seem to be letting in water through both the leather and the blue stuff.

They are a great bit of kit, but don't want to pay for Dubarry branding.

I notice that Compass 24 have similar boots for £80 and am sure there are others at similar prices (Quaysiders).

I have Musto rubber wellies for getting on/off the boat from the dinghy (swinging mooring) so just need them from when I'm aboard.

I'll give the Dubarry's a good soaking to sea if I can wash the salt out and re-seal with their spray.

What think you?

DuBarry provides a great service - they've just fitted new soles and heels to mine. I'd have a word with them - I found them extremely helpful.

Mine are about eight years old - the sole is hardly worn as I only wear them on board.

It is the uppers I'm sure that is letting in.
