A couple of questions for any one that knows anything about a Wellcraft 17ft with a 150hp Yamaha.
a) What are they like?
b) How much would you pay?
c) And what is likely to be wrong with it?

Thanks

WHOOPEE!!!!!!!!!!

BUT WHAT SHOULD I CALL IT?

1)check the wings thoroughly given that a combination like that should be good for 60mph
wellcraft are one of the unknowns over here but are performance craft and sports fishers in the US - SCARAB etc so hulls are usually really well made

2) you have just bought it so telling you 5k is probably going to upset you - unless engine is imaculate or the whole rig is newish with an HPDI engine.

3) fuel consumption (but only if you use full throttle - frugal at 50% revs which should be ample to plane fully) and flying characteristics (it will - can u?) - basically it's a little over engined - and that's from someone who always goes for the bigger option!

just add water and enjoy

the last bit - WHOOPEE obviously

Ok thanks,
Fuel consumption is no problem here because Petrol is about 5p litre.
I was intending on using it has just a runabout boat on cooler days.

Yes I agree with Duncan on both points.

The Wellcraft hulls are known to be well made. As to the 150HP Yamaha - well what can I say, I'm still chuckling too much!!

I have a Shakespear 17ft bow rider which is deliberately over engined with a 100 Suzi.

Yamaha are known to be bomb proof and providing it has been treated reasonably, you should have no problems.

I'm still chuckling at the 150HP :)
