Well, we\'re back, a few days early due to the appalling weather.....
1100 miles of dodging wind and rain, not always successfully, but some wonderful sites visited, scenes enjoyed and people met. Love the Odet river and Roche Bernard, waking up to a still sunny morning on a buoy on the Odet, and to all the lovely peeps we have met on the way.
Must mention, our own Big Nick and Karen with his beautiful new yacht Lechwe, Andy on Gallivant, TonyS and Jean on Melody, and many man more, like the recently retired ex-fireman who over 5 years as built himself the most incredible steel yacht. He designed, and built the whole thing, becoming expert at welding mild steel and stainless, and his joinery inside was just beautiful. Such a clever guy.
Still, we will remember this year for the long sea passages we had to make to avoid the storms, often having to use the engine, at least as back-up to too-light winds. We covered the distance from La Rochelle back north in hops to Il de Yeux, Port Crouesty, La Trinite, Benodet, Camaret, St Peter Port Guernsey, C'bourg and home. Still, we say ths every year, it is the people who we meet who make the holiday.
So I am back folks /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif /forums/images/graemlins/laugh.gif
